RoHS is the acronym for the expression restriction of hazardous substances and describes the implementation of EU Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The aim of this EU legislation is the reduction of hazardous chemical compounds in the components of electronic devices. CE marking of RoHS-compliant products is a legal requirement.
